bumps, taxes, tv, shoes, and porn

Hmmm. . . Which little snippet of my life should I reveal today?

That one of my coworkers wore an empire waist dress today and I am now completely convinced (in a very paranoid way) that she is pregnant?

That I finally started on my 2005 taxes (and at the moment it looks like I owe almost $900 -ouch- but I'm not finished yet so I hold out delusional hope that I may still get a refund)?

That I (against my better judgment) watched the new nbc show "teachers" tonight and am completely freaked out that Sarah Alexander is on the show (because, speaking of delusional hopes, I keep hoping for more Coupling . Despite the annoying infertility/pregnancy storyline I do love that show, and she should be keeping herself available to play Susan)?

That I discovered an amazing shoe store with about a million pairs of shoes which I drooled over (but had the self discipline not to buy)?

Or how about the skeezy perv I sat next to in the public library yesterday? I was on my lunch break and had to return some books, so I decided to waste the whole hour at the library and check in on some blogs. There I was, completely engrossed in the stories of a dozen lives and scarcely noticing the guy sitting next to me. Until I got up to walk away and was suddenly faced with his screen full of porn. Naked women everywhere! Now, I have nothing against porn (except for the scary, violent stuff, anyway) in the privacy of your own home -or better yet, hotel room- but in the public library? At lunch time? Yech.

False alarm on the coworker's potential pregnancy. She was back in pants today and there was no sign of a bump.

I check out the bellies of every woman I meet, it's a new manifestation of the sense I previously used for gaydar.

Re the porn in the library - ugh. No other word for it.
